Update 2007: It's been 4 years since the surgery, and my knee is back to normal (and has been for 1-2 years). I have full motion except for the last 2cm of movement when crouching. I play soccer and I've been snow skiing several times. I wear a brace for these high-impact activities but I wonder if that's more out of psychology (my brain needs to know my knee is safe) than for medical reasons. There's still a little bit of numbness along the big scar, and I suspect it will be there forever. My knee doesn't get sore or stiff so that's good.
